Contact in the Desert- A Dispatch…
INDIAN WELLS, CA — It’s Saturday afternoon, and I’m finally sitting down with some lunch, taking a much-needed breath to reflect on what has already been an absolutely whirlwind weekend. Looking around at the crowd here at Contact in the Desert, it is pure, high-octane energy. But to be completely honest with you, just getting to this point was a battle in itself.
A Brutal Start on the Highway
The trip started off rough, to say the least. I had a 7:00 AM flight out of Philly, so I drove down the night before to stay at a hotel right next to the airport. I was navigating the Schuylkill Expressway—one of the busiest, most notorious highways on the East Coast-and was literally 10 minutes from the airport when chaos hit.
Out of nowhere, a young girl rear-ended me going about 70 mph.
It is an absolute miracle that no one was majorly hurt. Thank God she was wearing her seatbelt and her airbags deployed. Luckily for me, I drive a big truck and she was in a small car, so my rig took the hit like a champ—it looks like I’m probably just going to need a new rear bumper. After the adrenaline settled and the bags were packed and nothing was going to stop me, that crazy moment kicked off my journey to Indian Wells. Thankfully, the rest of the travel was smooth sailing.
Under One Roof: The UAP Reality Check
I am here representing the UAP Reporting Center, and I am incredibly stoked and grateful that the organizers granted us a media pass to cover this massive event for all of you. It’s been an absolute blast, but make no mistake: it is a ton of hard work, and I am entirely pumped for it.
It is a surreal feeling. Pretty much every major voice in the UAP field that we discuss, analyze, and debate all year long is walking around under one single roof. We are talking about heavy hitters like Jeremy Corbell, George Knapp, Jacques Vallée, Eric Davis, and so many more. What has stood out to me the most is just how incredibly cool, accessible, and friendly everyone has been.
The networking and community vibe have been unmatched:
- I’ve gotten to catch up and hang out with my good friend Gene Sticco.
- I connected with filmmaker Darcy Weir, whose incredible new documentary, The Psychic Phenomenon, premiered right here last night. (Seriously, do yourself a favor and watch it when you can).
- I spent some time hanging out with a true legend, Ron James of MUFON, who was awesome enough to gift me a signed poster that I can’t wait to get back home. Ron’s new film is also premeiring tonight. Accidental Truth, NEXT-Beyond UFO Disclosure. Premieres nationwide on June 2nd.
- There’s been so many more moments that I couldn’t possibly list them all but keep on reading for the next part in this series and also a podcast where I’ll break down the whole things. That will hopefully be out next week.
The Media Rooms
A massive shoutout has to go to the indomitable Jaimie Billings, the media powerhouse running the media operations for Contact in the Desert. Let me tell you, she is one tough woman who commands respect, but she is also incredibly smart and deeply kind-even if she does her absolute best to hide it behind her professional and tough exterior!
Jaimie has been doing an incredible job to make sure we have everything we need to be success.. She has set me up in the media rooms with a lineup of incredible, exclusive interviews with conference speakers for our podcast. I’ve been grinding away at these recordings, and I absolutely cannot wait to roll them out for you guys.
Raw Honesty Under the Desert Stars
Last night, I followed the tour buses out to a secluded, pitch-black spot in the California desert for the famous Skywatch event, led by Marc D’Antonio and Ben Hansen (UFO Witness). I chose to watch from the sidelines, just standing in the dark, taking in the scale of the sky and the reaction of the crowd.
I have to say, I walked away deeply impressed by their character. In a field that can sometimes get caught up in hyperbole, Marc and Ben just told it exactly like it was as we watched the skies. There was no sensationalism. No calling ordinary satellites “anomalous” or misidentifying stars as “orbs.” They called it completely straight.
That level of refreshing honesty speaks volumes about who they are as investigators. It’s no wonder the Skywatch sells out completely year after year.
The Mission Continues…
We are only halfway through the weekend, and there is so much more ground to cover, more data to map, and more massive interviews locked in the chamber. I am here because I am fiercely passionate about tracking the truth on this phenomenon, and having you all along for the ride makes the hard work entirely worth it.
I will keep you guys posted as the weekend unfolds. Stay tuned-the best is yet to come!
